RULES

GENERAL RULES & DISCIPLINE

  1. All students should be present in school on the opening day of each term.
  2. Irregular attendance, unjustified absence or objectionable moral behaviour justify dismissal. If a student is absent for fifteen consecutive days without an application, or for three days at the beginning of a term, his/her name may be struck off the rolls.
  3. Every absence has to be intimated to the Principal immediately with an application duly signed by the parents. No student who has been absent from school or is late will be admitted into class by the teacher without the signed permission of the Principal.
  4. All students are expected to line up in silence for the Assembly at the sound of the first bell. Assembly is the most important part of the school day. Every student should be present at it to begin the day with prayer to God and to listen to the announcements and instructions of the Principal.
  5. No books, other than the required text books, should be brought to school. No student should bring to the school any objectionable articles and electronic goods, such as camera, mobile, USB Pen Drive, iPad, iPod, tape-recorder, knives, weapons, crackers, explosives, etc. The offenders are liable to be dismissed or rusticated from the school and the confiscated goods will not be returned.
  6. No student should leave the school premises during class hours without the knowledge and permission of the Principal.
  7. Any damage to school property will have to be made good. The decision of the Principal regarding the amount is final.
  8. The school is not responsible for goods lost. Students should not carry or wear valuable articles including rings and fancy watches. Students are liable to serious disciplinary action for stealing or damaging the articles of others.
  9. No student suffering from a contagious or infectious disease will be permitted to attend school. After recovery a fitness certificate is to be submitted.
  10. During school hours, students are not allowed to receive visitors or make phone calls. If the matter is very urgent, the message will be given.
  11. No student should remain in the classroom during P.T. or Games period, unless permitted by the Principal.
  12. Any student desiring to be exempted from P.T. or games must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part.
  13. All students should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed. They must come to school in school uniform everyday.
  14. Students must come to class with the lessons well prepared and the home work completed.
  15. The School Diary should be brought to the school daily.
  16. Running, playing and shouting inside the school building is never allowed.
  17. When students move along verandahs to other class rooms, they must walk in silence and in single line. They should always keep to the left as far as possible.
  18. Students should be particularly careful not to throw papers or fruit peels anywhere in the school premises. They should use the bins provided.
  19. Students are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in school but also for their general behaviour outside.
  20. Students are not allowed to enter a classroom other than their own.
  21. Articles found in school or on its premises are to be handed over to the office.
  22. In the school premises all are expected to speak only in English.
  23. Students should at all cost avoid writing, scribbling, or scratching on walls and furniture. In such cases, a fine is imposed.
  24. Principal’s permission is required for collections, parties, picnics, private tuition from school teachers, or giving presents to staff.

WE EXPECT YOU:

  • To be polite, friendly and well-behaved in and outside the school.
  • To be honest and truthful, whatever may be the cost.
  • To accept cheerfully every work and responsibility given.
  • To be courteous and sportsmanlike on the playground.
  • To wish your parents, teachers and elders whenever you meet them.
  • To respect your own property as well as that of the school and others.
  • To be bold enough to say ‘No’ when asked to do a thing which you know to be wrong.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO PARENTS

  1. Parents/guardians must comply strictly with the terms stated and pay fees by the due date.
  2. It is the responsibility of the parents to see that their wards reach school and back home safely.
  3. Parents are requested to enforce regularity and see that children prepare lessons daily.
  4. Leave for absence requires an application from the parent, preferably in advance.
  5. Communications should be addressed to the Principal, mentioning the child’s name, class, and section.
  6. No visitors are allowed to see students or interview teachers during class hours. All business is transacted in the office.
  7. Parents must attend parent-teacher meetings regularly.
  8. Students should not carry much cash or wear valuable articles like rings or fancy watches.
  9. The school does not provide transport or parking facilities. The school has no obligation for irregularities in transport services engaged by parents.
  10. We welcome constructive criticism and feedback for improvement.

LIBRARY RULES

  1. Students should keep in mind that “Reading maketh a full man”. They should develop the habit of reading books systematically and thoughtfully.
  2. Silence should be maintained in the library except on business with the librarian. This also should be done in a low voice.
  3. Students may borrow one book at a time for a period up to one week from the library. Any book not required by another person may be re-issued for a further week.
  4. Certain books, magazines, etc. are available for reference in the library only. They are not to be taken home.
  5. Books, periodicals, magazines, etc. should be treated with care, both in and out of the library. No writing, ink blots, torn pages, marks and lines in books, are tolerated.
  6. Books are issued on the understanding that they are only to be read by persons to whom they are issued and are not given to others whether of school or to outsiders.
  7. Any student who breaks the above rules will have to pay a fine or cost of the lost and damaged books.

LABORATORY RULES

  1. Students must wear lab coat (white overall) in the laboratory with monogram stitched.
  2. Perfect silence in the laboratory is essential for concentration and successful scientific work.
  3. Seat allotted should not be changed without permission of the concerned teacher.
  4. Keep your table, apparatus and note-book neat and clean.
  5. Add reagents in proportionate amounts, this gives the right result and key to success.
  6. Keep the reagents in their respective places, do not change the stoppers of the bottles.
  7. Avoid shifting the bottles from the common shelf.
  8. Use the waste box for throwing broken glass pieces, match sticks, filter paper, etc. and do not throw them in the sink.
  9. Shake the test tubes while heating, do not throw hot and concentrated acids, specially conc. sulphuric acid.
  10. Pass hydrogen sulphide gas slowly in the solution, it is a very poisonous gas, do not leave the gas stopper open.
  11. Any damage to lab apparatus/equipments will have to be made good.

COMPUTER LAB RULES

  1. Take off shoes before entering Computer Lab.
  2. Wipe off feet at doormat before entering the Computer Lab.
  3. Bringing any electronic gadgets from outside is prohibited.
  4. Unless and until needed, do not boot any system in the lab.
  5. Don’t move or shift the V.D.U. from its position.
  6. Do not play with computer peripheral & wires.
  7. Do not scribble on the machine casing, wires and tables.
  8. Do not play with keyboard.
  9. Always come with your group.
  10. Do not bang the key, press them softly.
  11. Always open and close the lab’s door as instructed.
  12. If anyone found misusing or playing with any computer peripherals he/she will be liable to pay a heavy penalty.
  13. Computer Applications/Computer Science is one of the subjects available for ICSE and ISC Level on merit/test basis respectively.

SCHOOL FEE

  1. Fee is taken quarterly. However, fee for the entire year or for the term may be paid online or in cash or cheque drawn in favour of “St. Mary’s School, Nai Bazar, Bhadohi”. If a cheque is bounced, a fine of ₹ 500/- will be charged.
  2. In case the fee remains uncleared for three consecutive months, the student’s name is liable to be struck off the rolls. A re-admission fee (₹ 2500/-) will be charged to continue. Late fee of Rs. 100 per month applies after the due date.
  3. Students whose dues are not cleared fully will not be allowed to appear for the examinations.
  4. Fee of April, May and June must be paid before the school closes for the summer vacation.
  5. No exemption or reduction in fee will be made on account of any holiday or absence for any cause.
  6. School fee once paid will not be returned in any case.
  7. While applying for T.C., fee card and fee receipts should be produced.
  8. Any changes made in General Regulations of the school regarding fee or other charges will be binding on parents and students.
  9. Note: For the loss of fee receipts, duplicates will not be issued; instead, a certifying certificate may be issued.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Parents are requested to send their children to school tidily dressed in the school uniform. Failure to comply will result in the student not being allowed to enter class.

L.K.G. & U.K.G.

Summer: Girls – Fawn/red check frock, white shirt, black shoes/socks. Boys – Black full pants (check pockets), check fawn shirt, black shoes/socks.
Winter: Maroon pullover/blazer with yellow stripes and monogram, black slacks (girls), and black cap.

Classes I – VIII

Summer: Grey skirt/pants, white shirt with monogram, tie, belt, black shoes/socks.
Winter: Navy blue/Maroon pullover or blazer with monogram and black scarf/cap.

Classes IX – XII

Summer: Girls – Brown-beige check kurta, beige salwar, beige coaty. Boys – Grey full pants, white shirt.
Winter: Same as summer with a Blue Blazer or sleeveless sweater with monogram.

Saturday (P.T. Uniform)

All students wear White P.T. shoes and white socks with white uniform variants as per class. IX to XII must wear a White Lab Coat for laboratories.

USE OF TWO WHEELERS / CYCLES

  1. Students below 18 years of age are strictly prohibited from bringing scooters or bikes to school.
  2. Students of class IV and below should not come by cycle.
  3. Cycle stand facilities are available for ₹ 500 for the entire year. A pass must be obtained and brought to school daily.

HEALTH CARE & GUIDELINES

In collaboration with St. Mary’s Hospital, we provide an annual health check-up and health cards for every student.

Guidelines to Parents:

  • Maintain personal hygiene (trimming nails, neatness) and ensure 8 hours of sleep.
  • Provide a balanced diet and clean drinking water (boiled/filtered).
  • Ensure vaccinations are up to date (BCG, DPT, Polio, MMR, Typhoid, Covid-19, etc.).
  • Report infectious diseases (Chicken-Pox, Measles, Covid-19) to the Principal and observe quarantine.
  • Chronic diseases (Asthma, Epilepsy) must be documented in the School Diary under medical supervision.
